Hampstead is one of the fastest growing communities in the area. Its location between Jacksonville and Wilmington offer its residents the access to a variety of stores, industries, restaurants, and beaches. It is an easy commute to Camp Lejeune as well. Because it is unincorporated, it is governed by Pender County. It is home to many golf courses and the Holly Shelter, a protected area that houses many unique plant and wildlife species. Loaded with beautiful and growing subdivisions, Hampstead straddles US-17, but offers easy access to I-40 as well.
Features for families include the new Kiwanis Park, pictured above, local library, and proximity to Topsail, Surf City, and Wrightsville beaches. Topsail School District, with its stellar reputation, is located in the heart of Hampstead and also offers locals the use of their beautiful tennis courts. Many local civic, social, and volunteer organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Lions, Kiwanis, and Arts League, offer opportunities for involvement. The Dolphins Swim Team is available for children and hopes to soon fund a community pool project.
